The next DHI meeting will be a "cracker barrel"
style meeting and the topic is Fire Door Inspection.
If you haven't been to one of the cracker
barrels, there are 5-6 tables with different
sub-topics, and the attendees are divided into small
groups and rotate around
through the tables for short (10-minute)
presentations.
Fire Door Inspection has been one of those buzz word type
things out there, but the reality is becoming more
and more apparent every day, and the need has never
been greater.
This will be a broad overview broken up into the specific
sections Certified Inspectors felt were the most
important.
- Basic Info (all of the FDAI
requirements in NFPA 80 except the criteria)
- The 11 general sets of criteria
that an inspector looks for)
- Certification / Training (how to
become certified, DAI course and apprentice level
training)
- Software - (DoorData) and (OneStep)
- Potential Business Models
- Responsibility & Liability
This information is important to everyone that is
selling, servicing, or dealing with doors, frames
and hardware on a regular basis. Don’t get burned by
